Once upon a time there was a girl named Gabrielle Chanel. She was quite a something. Always all dressed up and with her head up high. I could say that she was a confident lady, but it would be a lie… she was so much more than that. She also was very open minded person but there were a few things that she didn’t get. First of all – why women fancy uncomfortable clothes and the second (the most important) – why the hell women hold their bags with their hands?! So, yup, she invented a bag with a strap… And yes – it was a huge invention back then. She always thought that a girl has so much more interesting and engaging things to do than holding her bag all the time. And I guess she was right. Thanks to the strap – a bag was something that women stopped using and just started carrying.
Chanel 2.55 bag was designed in 20s but constant refinements lasted 30 years, so the official Chanel 2.55 bag was showed to the Wold in 1955.
It takes 10 hours and 6 craftsmen to make one Chanel 2.55 bag that consists of 180 separate pieces. I guess now you know why you have to pay that amount of money for a bag. There’s plenty people that have to get paid for their job! Not to mention the cost of fabrics! And the endless guarantee of course;)
